Hi Alexandra, Thanks for this information. It is very Helpful. Best Regards Marian Downes -----Original Message----- From: Alexandra M Kavoulakis [mailto:amkavoulakis@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: 09 August 2004 23:10 To: SSA's BPCS ERP System Subject: Re: Using BTP (GBH & GBL) We are on version 6.0.04 mixed mode with very few modifications and have been using the BTP process for payroll for several years. Our payroll processing is outsourced. After each pay is processed, we receive a formatted file that contains the GL information with accounting codes. The payroll file gets uploaded to the AS/400. We run a custom program that reads the payroll file and writes records into the GJW file in BPCS. Once the data is in the GJW, we use the CLD menu options to process the GJW records into GBH and GBL, then process those to the ledger. We worked with the payroll people to get the right information into the data file. The custom program to write to the GJW just maps data from one file to the other and is relatively simple. On the BPCS side, you have to get all of the CEA setup correct, which includes a model, event, and reason codes among other things. Our custom program does some quick checking for errors, most of which can be corrected in the CLD programs before sending it to the ledger or in Maintain Events after it is in the ledger but not posted. We currently key the journals manually. We would like to find out how other companies use BTP. What are the steps we have to take to set this up. Any comments or help are much appreciated.
