Creating a test environment is not a task for beginners.
I strongly suggest that you consult with your tech support company to make sure that the instructions that you are following ar in fact valid.

Several things need to be different in the test environment than in the live environment.

You want all the files different, not cross connected.
DSPDBR if I remember correctly is the command to verify that your logicals are the right ones for your physicals ... depending on how you copy your test data, you can end up with data updates not in the environment that you intended.

Software could be the same, provided no files inside your software libraries.

There are security issues related to setup where the person doing the setup needs to be using a higher level security than normal BPCS users.

Can you find on your system a file called BPCSDOC?
Can you find in that file a member called SSALOG00?
Can you print that out, using PDM for example?

Hi,

we are running BPCS 6.1.01 and I am not so long working with BPCS. We want to create a new test environment and I have used a document for create a new BPCS environment of a person who has left the company yet. I have completed all steps of this document and now I get stuck when starting BPCS client. The joblog of the AS/400 says "cannot resolve to object AS400....." MCH3401 when I look into the workstations joblog.

Has anyone had this before? I have crosschecked all necessary *DTAARA and CL sources, but everything is the same as in our live environment.

Thanks for your help

Thomas
