Yes, you will need to test the client PC. It would be best if your
organization has defined a standard platform that is a corporate standard.
If not, you will need to document what a "typical" workstation would/should
look like and test on one of those. Remember that the point of validation
is to consider the entire environment "holistically" within which the
application must operate as planned/documented. So, you can't leave out the
client.
If there is much variance between client machines, then document how you
will handle this in case "performance" issues pop up. That is, you may need
a written procedure which may simply show what you currently do anyway.

Hi Guys
a very specific questions to our pharma members
we are validating software and have a discussion regarding testing of IQ
separate for Hardware /software
2- do we need to test the workstation (PCs ) eventhough there is no
software on the PCs (everything is on the AS.400
i think that the network PCs + peripherals should be done separately and
in the software scope -only the server
anyone got to that point and made a decision?
