Dear Danny, Mark's CEA security idea was exactly correct. But ... implementing good user security ideas using BPCS' vanilla programs isn't easy. Abundant patience is needed to do an A+ job defining BPCS security profiles because BPCS user profile maintenance is clunky. Here is a much better idea === > "By Invitation Only" ... another Bells & Whistles® for BPCS software product from Unbeaten Path. http://www.unbeatenpathintl.com/BIOnly-start/source/1.html "By Invitation Only" greatly simplifies the definition, maintenance, removal, and documentation of BPCS user authorization information. Here's one more good idea. Once user security is set up exactly the way you want it, use our "Stitch-in-Time" Data Integrity software to watch for unauthorized changes to the security-related databases. http://www.unbeatenpathintl.com/stitch_in_time/source/1.html "Stitch-in-Time" can be configured to monitor and report changes to any mission-critical iSeries (AS/400) database. Companies seeking Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance help have viewed "By Invitation Only" and "Stitch-in-Time" as must- have functionality. Then change the security group on the user you want to grant authority to in SYS600.
