RE: inventory not beeing updated -- BPCS-L

We are on 405 CD and also run mutli-threaded, but I have studied what's doing what and we have managed to lay down some rules ... everyone who works on certain tasks are to use the same thread, so we avoid the tasks that can conflict being on different threads.

Actually our multi-thread conflicts are not with base BPCS but with some of our modifications. Also our AS/400 is undergassed for our growing demand, so that also imposes a thread limit.

When ILI is zerio we can have a problem with reconciliation. Some BPCS reorg software looks at not all ILI, but all ILI that is non-zero (has some inventory) and only rolls that into the other files, so what we have to do is 1. a dummy adj to ILI 2. the reorg 3. reverse the dummy adj

We have had this problem on 6.0, 6.1, 6.4 and 8.0.

        The problem we see clearly is that BPCS is designed to run
single-threaded, but we have to run multi-threaded. So two transactions
process the same record at the same time, and the second one updates a
quantity that has not been updated by the first.
        We run an audit program every night to identify the out-of
balance conditions. When we find one we run a single-part version of the
month-end synchronization program.
        ALMOST always, the ILI record is correct. Once in awhile ILI is
wrong.

i tried in the past to post this question - i still have the problem so

i am in version 6.04 and the iim and iwi dont get update eventhough i
confirm customer orders and send the goods out - B transaction
created,ili
iln gets updated
but the accumulated files : iim iwi  quantities stay the same
my sulution is running the INV971 inv972 every night - but during the
day
the total dont get updated.
 anyone heard of that?
any help?
