Danny: You may want to do some prototyping to make sure you fully appreciate the influence of the GUI interface on workflow in data-input intensive workcenters. We haven't seen the BPCS 8 C/S apps, so they may have addressed the productivity gap ... However, time motion studies performed by local companies when V6 debuted showed that GUI apps in order entry, shipping and other workcenters took as much as 7 times longer to key documents as compared to text-based (green screen) apps. At the time, GUI panel designs did not leverage the skills of expert data entry clerks as effectively as text-based panels. Of course, if data entry operations have been reduced through EDI, scanning and other technologies, this may not be an issue for your company. Regards, John G.
