I am currently running express 5.0 (that was distributed with my v5 upgrade) 
on my windows 2K and XP talking to my v4r4 box.  If express is available on 
your current release of os you can replace it first and then upgrade the PC 
only.  I haven't felt like upgrading my os for a while but I do like the new 
functions of express.
