Hi,

BMR 39659 allows the password or user ID to be more than 10 characters
(previous limit was 8 ). This BMR is now also required whenever you get
certain other BMRs for the Fat Client (I am not sure if you have received
this due to a BMR dependency issue or if you ordered it especially for
password changing on GUI panels?)

If you use BPCS Client/Server (only GUI, no green screen) there is another
BMR required for changing the password. This allows you to change the
password from the Thin Client programs using SYS196D. BMR 33008 is the BMR
that introduces the SYS196D program, which allows a Thin Client user (no
green screen available) to change a password from inside BPCS. This is
probably also included in your BMR explosion package already?

If you want a pop up a panel to show to the user, if the password is
expired, then you must TRAIN your users to only use the OPS Thin Client (2nd
Generation Icon) to start your session. Do not use the Session Manager to
start BPCS anymore, since this older program can not pop up the Change
Password prompting panel if the password has expired.

Please understand that the original BMR 33008 has been superceded by several
other BMRs, to ensure that everything works together properly. Some (51795)
are for
the NEWI programs too. Make sure to apply all parts of the BMR fix at once
and read the README instructions.

As to using the STRALD in a CL program - what is the problem you are having?
There is a lot of documentation about using this command in the README file
(note that the README I am speaking about is available on the PC in a Word
document that was in the .zip file - it can not be read on the AS/400). The
library list for BPCS has to be in place when the daemon starting CL program
job runs, so that it can find the STRALD command and programs. Otherwise
there should be no problems in doing this. If you read the documentation
inside the BMR39659 zip file, it should explain how to use the command.
(Also make sure the version of the BMR39659 library which you receive
contains the BMR57026; it should be listed in the README file - this BMR
allowed STRALD to be called from a QCMDEXC).

The same user authority is required to start the daemon this way, as is
required when you used the old program CALL statement.

If you continue to have problems or questions about STRALD, you should call
the SSA GT Support Line which gave you the BMR and they can assist you with
your specific problem.

Thanks,

Genyphyr Novak
