We are also experiencing interactive hits on 405 CD after upgrading to V5R1 ... we sometimes jump several OS/400 versions in an upgrade so I not know for sure which V#R# most responsible. When we were V4R3, interactive hits were virtually non-existant, perhaps once in a blue moon. Now we get them perhaps once a week ... a bit heavier during some current conversion work. There are jobs that should be JOBQ not interactive, to use 400 resources properly & I moving them, but one thing that bugs me is how it disrupts testing new programs and modifications. When I working on software development, I like to test on-line so that if it fails, I see precise point of failure, not have it in JOBQ then get hung. I test, I go back and tweak the program, test again, then when happy with the output, create a JOBQ version. Well thanks to CPW getting tighter with OS/400 upgrades, there are some programs I can't use that approach on anymore. We had the same experience. They interactive part of the AS/400 is overloaded. The system creates a job like to governor/ que the work load. If you look at the WRKSYSSTS or WRKACTJOB the system CPU % is probably topped out. (Governor job name is CFINT01) The Job CPU's might not addup right but the interactive part is overloaded. You may end up having to upgrade the interactive feature. Loading the sub files and displaying is the slowest part. We have a 720 with 120 interactive. We tried running live for 2 days, it took minutes to pick, confirm orders, and bring up order maintenance. We made the business decision to return to BPCS 405CD. Dear BPCS Expert, We just upgraded from BPCSv6.1 to BPCSv6102 (mix mode OS400 V4r5) and the performance is horrible. It is taking us minutes to bring up programs like PUR500, CST100, PUR640..etc. Any suggestions to overcome this issue will begreatly appreciated. Regards Bill Moy
