We are on BPCS 6.0.04MM. I did all of the things that are talked about in apar II12963 and had no problems with BPCS. The one problem that I did have was with the database file object conversion that happens after the upgrade. According to the IBM Memo to Users, if you have the latest cum, the latest Database group PTF and PTF SI082872, forcing the object conversion is not required. I had originally planned to force the object conversion after I did the upgrade to avoid any overhead for the users on the first day in production. After reading the above, (against my better judgement) I did not force the object conversion. We had a problem with 2 files going into a never ending lock wait. It created a huge mess in BPCS that could have been avoided by forcing the object conversion after the upgrade. IBM said there are some open issues with the object conversion, so I would highly recommend forcing the object conversion at least for your BPCS files. It only takes a short amount of time. Are there any known issues with the client server portion of Bpcs with V5R1. In addition, are there any known issues with the calling of Bpcs Programs within an ILE or RPG Program. We are not on OGS.
