>Does INV500 in 405CD have a interactive data entry function then calls a >"batch" program from the interactive program to post the transactions?? No, INV500 in 405CD is direct immediate interactive. The interactive data entry function immediately updates files with the results of the transactions and adding history to ITH. The same is true for many specialized variants such as PUR550 that do only a narrow subset of inventory transactions, but billing shipping do have interactive data entry function in which the posting of the selected transactions may be done off the JOBQ. JIT600 in 405CD does have a "batch" option. JIT600 uses SFC600 program "under the covers" with some flag set to do the JIT functions or just the labor if SFC600 is really being used. JIT620 does the actual transaction posting (SFC620 "under the covers") of the labor and inventory transactions resulting from shop floor activity. JIT600 populates the "batch file" (really FLT member WORK, using work station identity to have multiple batches in same member, but some other V* files are populated immediately when we do crew reporting), through then JIT620 posts the transactions. JIT620 can be run interactively or off JOBQ. If you were not doing any crew reporting, I think a modification could populate the right stuff in FLT member WORK, bypassing JIT600 entirely, then go direct to JIT620 via JOBQ (with it fed the relevant work station batch identification). It has been a while since I looked at this software, so I may be missing some nuances. - Al Macintyre (macwheel99@sigecom.net via Eudora) http://radio.weblogs.com/0107846/ Your Screen Saver's unused CPU seconds can help find a cure for cancer. http://members.ud.com/about/
