Amitava There is some prerequiste work to enable AS400 email. First you will need to configure SMTP, POP3, and Distribution Services (QSNADS) on the AS400. You will also need to take into account your companies email infrastructure. The AS400 can (and I recommend this) be configured as a sub domain. In your inbound post office you will need to configure an MX record in order for reponses to emails to be sent to the AS400. This is very important if you wish to keep the AS400 itself directly off the internet. The good news is that this is a process that only needs to be done once. Secondly, the sender needs to setup as an internet mail account on the AS400. Otherwise the email will not be delivered and the AS400 will have an Distribution error in the QSYSOPR message queue. A very important fact to note that prior to V5R1 the AS400 could only be configure as an email server. At V5R1 IBM introduced support for ETERN( sp?) which allows the AS400 to function as a client to a server running DOMINO. Now the user wants to email the report (in spool) directly to the customer's email address. The customer's email address is in Customer Master file (RCM). How can I email the spool as an attachment?
