You don't need an entry for SYS147D1 or SYS148. If the user has SYS set to 0 it means he/she is not authorized to any SYS programs. Try removing these entries from user authorization. You might want to post here what BPCS version you are on, whether these users are coded as BPCS users or BPCS security officers, and what their general SYS access is. BPCS has some rules, then within software from SSA, they have some hard coded exceptions to what we can do, which I have found out when I wanted to grant special authority to some users. The SYS menu option 21 I believe, is what we use to say that only selected BPCS user profiles have access to SYS functions, and it works for people who are BPCS USERs (type of user is U) while people who are coded as BPCS SECURITY Officers (type of user is S) can access anything in BPCS regardless of rest of their BPCS user profile. On the BPCS User Profile, I hope you understand it works using Opposites. Consider Inventory. We have some people coded NO for INV in general then INV300 down below. This means the ONLY INV program they can run is inquiry. A lot of people are like this for BOM300 SFC300 ORD300 & so forth. They coded not to be able to mess with that application, but can inquire into its data. We also have some people coded YES for INV in general then INV900 down below & a few other exceptions. This means they can do just about anything in INV but we do not want them running month end year end stuff or any of the reorganizations. To a certain extent this can be blocked if they cannot get to the menus this stuff is on. We have extremely restricted access to SYS & a few other applications like GLD. Most of our users are NO for SYS in general, then a very small number of SYS exceptions. >I have users selecting the F13=Functions and then accessing menu >maintenance SYS147 and menu print SYS148. I have update the BPCS user >profile for these users specifying 0 and the program names to disallow >them authorization to the programs. This does not seem to work. Is it >because these programs are not being called from the BPCS menu? How can >access be denied? > >Any thoughts would be welcomed. > >Charlie Borill - Al Macintyre (macwheel99@sigecom.net via Eudora) _______________________________________________ This is the SSA's BPCS ERP System (BPCS-L) mailing list To post a message email: BPCS-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/bpcs-l or email: BPCS-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/bpcs-l. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------- Note: Please update your email address for this user to reflect the new MeadWestvaco Corporation.
