We too are on 405CD, V5R1, without OV. Last year I assisted a coworker on automating the dunning letter process for our Accounting folks. As I recall he used Foxpro w/ ODBC and Foxpro report generator. He retrieved most of the info from the RAR file (I believe using the RARL25 logical - we use Corporate Accounts, you can use RARL03 if you don't use Corp. Accts.) and the RCM using the CMCDTP (Customer Dunning Type) field. He also wrote a macro to update the CMCDST (Customer Dunning Status), CMCDTP, and the CMDDAT fields on the RCM file... You may do something similar with Word or Access, if you did most of the coding on the AS/400 and then used ODBC and mail merge... If need be, My coworker said he would give you more details on the logic he used. He can be reached by email, michael.janis@nelsonstud.com. Good Luck. Reading through the docs it says that Office Vision is used for the letters. Seeing as OV is uninstalled when upgrading OS400 to V5R1, I see this as a dead end road. We are currently at V4R5, but will most likely soon upgrade. What other options have people used to do this process without OV? It seems to me I should be able to use Mail Merge and Microsoft Word, but I'd be going without BPCS' help, true?
