We are on BPCS CD and this problem also occurs in this version if GLD540 subsystem post is run while someone else is in a program which is creating journals (e.g. ACR500 or ACP500). The journals that are being created are posted even if the journal is not complete. When completed, the remainder of the journal can not be posted as the journal number already exists. GLD540 does not perform any check to ensure that journals are not being created by another user. This happed to us on a couple of occasions and was fixed by changing the journal number in GJW. It just so happened that there was either an 0 or 1 in the journal numbers which we changead to O or I. We are Version 4.0 Release 03 One of the users brought me a problem with an AR batch which won't post to GL because of a duplicate journal ID. She tells me that this has happened from time to time when two folks post to AR at the same time, and that my predecessor fixed it by renaming the journal. Makes sense to me, but I am not sure where to do the adjustment. It appears that making the change to the relevant entries in GJW and RAR should do it, but I do not want to get bitten. Any help that you all can offer would be most appreciated!
