We ran into a situation with Connect:Direct in that it will only communicate
with Connect:Direct, this means boths parties must utilize the product. We
didn't want to get locked into purchasing the product for a single customer so
we spoke with Sterling Commerce themselves. After a little digging found out
the we could have the customer with Connect:direct send to the Sterling
Information Broker (VAN) and we could continue to receive from the VAN as
usual. We receive both EDI & non-EDI through this method.
