Jesse, We have developed a GUI front end to part of BPCS. We use Lotus Domino/Notes for the client and interact with BPCS via direct ODBC calls and the SSA Domino Connector(which talks to the SMG's). It works very well and is great for consolidating mulitple BPCS screens into one form (our Order Entry module takes functionality from 14 BPCS screens and presents it to the users on one GUI form). Another advantage is that you can add additional logic that is not in BPCS in order to automate company specific processes. The same concept we use for Order Entry could be used for most any BPCS module. Our process is compatible with SMG's Ver 4.2 which are currently used on BPCS V6.1x and V8. Feel free to contact me offline if you would like more detail.
