I need to create a new BPCS environment for a new plant that will be very similar to our existing environment setup. The new environment needs to mimic the existing plant's GL, including account numbers, alias, events, INV transactions effects, MRP parameters, but will have all new part numbers, BOMs, routers, etc. I'm thinking of possibly copying the existing environment's data into a new library to maintain the GL and MRP setup, and then manually deleting all of the transaction history, item master, inventory locations, routers, orders, vendors, POs, etc. Or, would starting from scratch avoid a lot of headaches, even though the initial setup would take longer? Any other issues on the "cloning" method that would need to be addressed? I realize that there are going to be issues with getting the proper data areas, JOBDs, LIBLs, etc, but I think those are easy to deal with.
