Jesse First Please clarify we understanding correctly what is being forced. Backward migration from BPCS 4.05 (is this CD?) to BPCS 2.0 ??? The standard advice in such a situation is for you to get your resume updated & get out of such a scenario as fast as you can. Next, is to get a business analyst outside consultant to explain to upper management what the consequences would be to make for sure they know what they are doing. Sounds to me like an enormous expense comparable to converting from say Windows 9x to MS DOS, or from modern business practices to Horse & Buggy with no internal combustion engines used for any delivery of products. What version of Y2K compliant solution is being used for the BPCS 2.0 ? Can the outfit that is supplying that help you with the conversion? Do you have a net change document that lists all the stuff 4.05 can do that 2.0 can not do, such as support for facilities, and do you know whether the stuff that will be no longer supported is stuff that you will be living without, or if you have to find some other way to get it, such as via multiple environments & the extra hardware to support that? > From: jesse.salazar@trin.net (Jesse Salazar) > > Due to a merger and internal politics, one of our divisions is being > forced to migrate from BPCS 4.05 to 2.00. > > Would like some feedback/advice on such a move. > > Thanks. > > > Jesse Salazar Jr., CSP > Certified Systems Professional > > Senior Programmer/Analyst > EDI Services Coordinator MacWheel99@aol.com (Alister Wm Macintyre) (Al Mac)
