At this years spring & fall COMMON convention, SSA/GT had a booth & I spent hours several talking with them. The discussion covered a lot of ground & most was centered around Version 8. We are running Version 6.0.02 full client server & all I heard was to get off that version & into either 6.1.xx or 8. That is a nice thought but changing versions is just not that easy or cheap. One thing that was said was SSA is being "cautious" (my choice of words) about letting version 8 out in mass. The rumor mill has it that SSA did not run an external test of version 8 & maybe that was the reason for the comment? It was interesting because SSA/GT & MAPICS had booths back to back. Would have been interested in spending some time with MAPICS to do a little comparison but....... Thanks - Dennis. Dennis Munro "I love deadlines. Having left the ERP market last year, I now am returning to do evals of ERP packages for our small to medium size clients in the manufacturing space. Some of our clients (construction supply companies) have heard that BPCS is "dead".... Any truth to that? Can they expect full support for the BPCS product should they go down that route?
