The EWR problem often caused by users closing the pick confirmation screen using "X" in the top left corner of the window. Some of the BPCS GUI applications do not treat that as Function key 3 and therefore terminate application abnormally. The other good example is any 5250 emulation software such as Client Access or Rumba, if you close the window it will terminate application leaving EWR records in the file. We found two reasons why users are doing that: 1) To get some order/line info such as consolidation number etc. (they find it easier than using inquiries). 2) The front selection was not done correctly and once users see that in the listed orders and lines they try to exit ASAP. Our shipping dept. cannot pick confirm customer orders at times. What I'll do is delete the record in the EWR file, then the customer order will show in pick confirm. I found this to work, but I'm wondering why? Why should I have to delete the record so our shipping dept. can process the order thru pick confirm? Are we doing something else wrong? Please advise.
