Hi Ho.

        The weather has been perfect. It's actually hard to complain about
it. I hope you guys realize that the stuff I write is not all true.

        Lim I have bad news about inventory by date. The onhand balance is
static. What you see is what you have as of right now. You cannot go back to
yesterdays inventory balances or any other time in the past.

        What you are referring to Lim is probably a financial month end
environment. You can take a snap shot or backup of your current
environment(LIVE) and create a duplicate copy of it. Once the duplicate
environment has been created limit the access to your financial people. By
having this duplicate environment you can view the inventories without them
changing. You can play around with the standard costs / boms etc.....

        For your standard costs.

        Method 1
        The CIC file contains a field ICSCST. This field is your standard
cost by item/facility.

                Method 2
        The CMF file also contains the standard cost. You will need to
extract from this file the following

                CFFAC           =       Facility used
                CFCSET  =       2       (standard cost)
                CFCBKT  =       0
                STDCOST = New field (CFTLVL + CFPLVL)

        I hope this helps. If you need a hand creating a new environment I
have a step by step document that will guide you. It takes about 20 minutes
to create a new environment.
