If you used item class to resolve an inventory account you may relieve a
different account after you change the class. For example, say you have
separate inventory accounts for each product line and use the item class to
select the account #. You may receive 100 units at $1 each and debit the raw
material account for product line A. You change the item class to one that
points to a different product lines account, then process a work order
containing that item. It relieves the new raw material account (into which it
was never debited) and leaves a residual debit balance in the original (but
incorrect) account.
