We are also on 6.04, July 1999 cum, and all of our bills of material are
facility specific.. We run BOM900 nightly due to a large amount of
customization in our finished goods line. We do this because the low level
codes need to be reset with virtually every new item or bill of material change.

The BOM900 program requires object locks on the item master (IIM) and bill of
material (MBM) files. To accomodate this, we run it during our nightly shut
down / back-up. It only takes one or two minutes, so it does not have a big
impact on our nightly programs.

Our BOM900 objects were updated by the July 1999 cum (object dates of 5/22/99),
but I don't recall any problems prior to applying this update. I don't believe
this program has any effect on ITH sequence numbers, but it does update the IIM
low level code to allow for proper planning.

Hope this helps.

Hi,
Has anyone run BOM900 recently? We ran it a year or so ago and it trashed
our sequence numbers. After a new release, and many BMR's we tried again last
year. Some, not all, items had the quantity and bubble numbers hosed. We need to
run this, but are pretty gun shy. We are on 6.0.4, mixed mode, April cum. We
have both facility and global bills. For the global, there are two methods for
each item (used for costing). Just wondering if anyone had any advice and/or
warnings. Thanks
