We also have an in-built check that disallows an entry for a date prior to
the last period closing date.

Ideally, all data entry should (and at our location, it does) happen as and
when the event takes place (on-line). This also obviates the need for any
backdated entries.

We also have a few manual checks, supported by checklists, in place to
ensure that all departments / sections finish their work and 'sign-off'
before the month-end jobs are submitted.

As was mentioned in another post, BPCS 405CD will adjust the opening balance
if
a transaction is posted with a date prior to the current period's beginning
date.

We have placed logic in numerous places that disallows a transaction to a
prior
period.
