I have seen several variations. Our rule of thumb when we need to close out a shop order in which one or more ingredients less than the quantity originally called for: 1. Shop Order Maintenance to lower quantity called for to actually done. 2. Zero Transaction posting - no labor, no inventory, no whatever against that order, so as to run through the software that says "Oh, we have met the quantity called for, so code this sucker as done." We use zero transaction adjustment so as to have no effect.
