Maybe this field is there for "future use"  :-)

On a more serious note, I've never seen a BPCS install use this field for
anything (BPCS functionality or reporting) and the v6.1 production database
I just checked doesn't have anything populated in the field.  I would resist
the urge to populate the field with a value, however.  Who knows . . . maybe
one of the planning generation programs uses this field during processing
(don't think so, though SSA will have to say for sure).
