Al Macintyre 405 CD

We also build to order only, with a similar process.

We use a warehouse numbering scheme in which the first character is the
facility designation & the second character is the item type that is usually
stored there.

Work in Progress 22 32 42 52
Raw Materials Stock Room 27 37 47 57
Holding area for QC determination 29 39 49 59
Ready for shipping 21 31 41 51

There is only one location in each shipping warehouse
LS01 GS01 ES01 WS01 in which the S means shipping & the letter is an alpha
designation corresponding to the actual facility.

The ORD500 customer orders are setup to be desired out of relevant facility
warehouse x1

Modifying ORD570 is a royal pain without AS/Set because of the difficulty in
figuring out which screen panels connect to what part of program logic, but
you are probably locked into using AS/Set.

If I was programming this modification, I would either tie it to our work
station number system, which is facility specific, or to the user because our
users are facility specific, and look at the remembered keys to see if there
is a logical field there that fits into this, or have the user run some job
in front of ORD570 that resets a data area ... you are user-A at
workstation-B with remembered key stuff-C so logically the default ship from
area for you will be-D ... at this point the user can change the default that
ORD570 modification is going to use.

Then if the user wants to use a different location for a bunch of parts.
Exit from ORD570, run the reset default job, return to ORD570.
