Doug,

At my previous employer, we ran DRP/MPS/MRP/CAP nightly. We created FPO's
at the DC which we released into re-supply orders daily. The Planner at our
Manufacturing Plant created the FPO's and somewhat leveled the load back to
the Manufacturing Plant. Since she was (is, I'm gone she's not) familiar
with the manufacturing process she could also group major setups.

Thanks for the response. We are running the process you described already.
We want to narrow the time frame down to get resupply orders on a daily
basis. We are looking for the mechanics of how to do daily planning.

Doug:

What you are describing is exactly what DRP does. You establish
relationships between facilities, run DRP, and requirements are driven down
to their appropriate manufacturing facilities.
