Al Mac with 405 CD Anyone know if the cost bucket numbers in FOD Shop Operations File correlate to Cost Bucket numbers in Cost Master? It would be nice if I knew for a fact that OOCST (bucket 2) meant standard cost of the quantity completed while OLCST (bucket 1) meant actual cost for the labor / machine hours reported, or some equally meaningful algorithm. I am looking into ways to drill down into a part to identify where the cost variances are coming from ... for example we have a 100 sub-assembly part & 1 of the 100 has a serious labor reporting efficiency problem ... in the past we have found this kind of thing through queries that look at FLT labor ticket history, but our sub-assemblies use common item numbering not linked to end item numbers. I have now written a program (a lot of it was cloned from SSA code) that goes down BOM to find all manufactured sub-components, looks at the FRTL03 operations on them to get standards, looks at FOD & FSO current activity to get actual rates of current activity, charts labor reporting efficiency & I was noodling around to find the most elegant way to show where the actual cost is coming from. A lot of our worker time is not production time but setup, inspection of their output, and while we do not track it, I figure they probably take a minute or two to fill out each labor ticket. Are there any industry statistics or standards on what percentage of production worker time we would expect to find them actually working on the end products, as opposed to setup, inspection, & paperwork?
