These transactions are created every time a cost is manually updated via the
CST100 - Cost Master Maintenance program. They serve as an audit trail for
manual cost adjustments. It is appropriate that they NOT be integrated to the
ledger, so your finance department is probably ignoring them in the sense that
they do not integrate them to the general ledger. However, your cost
accounting department, or controller, may very well use these. (If they're not,
maybe they should.) It is a great tool to have when trying to track down
issues with costs. Since the cost master file (CMF) does not store a last
maintained date and user field, the "#" transactions in ITH are the only way to
id who/when cost records were manually changed.

We are AS/400 6.02 MM on OS/400 V4R4.

We have looked at the description for the # transaction type and noticed it
says "Cost Adjustment from CST/ACP". Our finance department ignores these
transactions when they post to the general ledger so we are wondering if we
could delete them from the ITH.

Does anyone know if deleting them would create any problems?
