I had the same experience with BPCS back in 1991 - I would have hoped there
coding styles would have considered efficiency and performance more by now.
I ended up having an independent Systems Analyst come in and provide a
sizing estimate for me. I chose someone who was not with SSA or IBM and his
sizing results were "on the money".  I have his name if you are interested.
