Sandy,

For a first time SQL beginner, I do not suggest embedded SQL. Try and spend
a day or two using interactive SQL. A simple SQL book can be picked up in
any book store, if not look in the 4GL sections like Oracle, Sybase etc
which are heavily SQL based.

Then I recommend the IBM AS/400 SQL reference which will teach you to embed
these statements. Should you require a sample program or two, just shout..

Vinay

Sandy,

I have a paper which was submitted to the AS/set Usergroup about two years
ago.

It basically takes you through the do's and don'ts of embedding SQL in an
AS/SET program.

I will see if I still have it and post it here.

Regards
