In all fairness to SSA, what Genaphyr describes is the only mechanism to get bugs addressed by SSA. However, this has already been done (see below) and the BMR (considered an enhancement, not a bug) was REJECTED by R&D. I know of several clients that have modified INV500 to warn that the negative adjustment transaction (the logic is in INV510!) will impact allocations - and just for the record, I see nothing inherently flawed in the business practice of adjusting inventory (see comments in the BMR) when necessary. This is the only BMR that I found that referenced this problem using program "INV500" and the keyword "allocation". MR Number:28570 Priority Code:E Version Reported:6002 Platform Reported:AS400 Program:INV500 Origin Code:E Completed Date:12-04-98 Rejected Date:12-04-98 Rejected Reason:NRJ Warning message if hard alloc. Client would like a warning message to appear if hard allocations exist with sufficient inventory, and you perform an inventory transaction through (INV500) that takes the inventory level lower than the hard allocated amount. Currently BPCS will allow this transaction to occur without a warning. This would be for both customer and shop orders. This enhancement request is rejected Based upon the "Comments" section, client is not using any of the various issue transactions supported by BPCS. If they did, then they would get a warning. Client needs to reassess their business practices. +--- | This is the BPCS Users Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to BPCS-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to BPCS-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to BPCS-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner: dasmussen@aol.com +---
