DevinBowen writes "Last cycle count date should be updated when you post or clear the counts but it's been a while since I've looked at this. If the date is updated by selection, the assumption must be that the counts will be posted same day? If I get a chance to test this, I'll report my results." Selection is good enough in my view, whether you have a one day turn around or not. Updating by selection leaves you the option of not bothering to enter a count when their is no discrepancy. Cycle counts usually require trained people to resolve potential problems (I've seen dumb cycle counting create huge problems) so they are not something you can hand off to blind data entry. If you have spare, well trained resources with the time to enter what is essentially a confirmation count, more power to you. But even if you have a one week turn around on your counts, if you start aging from date of entry, how are you going to give the floor the required week's notice so that they can actually count it when it's due? As long as process times remain consistent, selection date creates no problem, and in fact gives fair warning to allow for process time.
