No better reason than that. The plant's shut down for the holiday, so nobody should be working other than IS. If "stuff" blows up January 1st, who cares? "Corporate", that's who. "Stuff" blows up here every day that's completly unrelated to Y2K, so why ruin someone's holiday? Hype. A wasted New Year's for everyone, IMO. Frankly, I'd be more concerned if I worked for one of those companies that plans to shut its' systems down for the holiday.
