Try putting an indicator in the Low position of the 'Call QCMDEXC' statement in
RPG.  An indicator will get turned on if the called program ends abnormally.
Not sure if this will help your situation, though.

The best solution is to use CL - just pass the appropriate parameters to it and
let it issue the CHGOBJOWN command and then use MONMSG to monitor for errors.
