If you're talking about RESET ON ORDER ALLOCATED (INV971), most find that
they need to run this monthly (in a group of reorgs that usually includes
INV972 - Update IIM from ILI (YCI) file, SFC990 - Cleanup FMA & FOD files,
ORD990 - Cleanup ECL & ECS files, SYS990 - Cleanup Allocations and INV971 -
Reset On Order Allocated) to make sure data is consistent from the detail
(ECL, FSO in this case) to the summary (IWI in this case) files. If you run
ORD990 (Cleanup ECL and ECS Files), you should run INV971 for integrity
reasons (ORD990 simply removes any ECL without ECH - it does not update IWI's
on order or allocated [soft] fields).

The group of reorgs above is sometimes put in the month-end job stream after
INV900 and may also include INV970 and INV973. You can get details on these
jobs by displaying help inside the programs.
