I was just involved in the same issue on V6.0.04. The program is probably
not in a loop it will just take FOREVER to run. My client started on a 510
and the program had to be killed after running for 8 to 10 hours with the
program still not finishing. They upgraded to a 720 and the program ran in 4
hours. Still an extremely long time considering MRP runs in 45 minutes.

Here are a couple of things to try:

1. Limit date ranges and plannar codes on the submission. Doing this cut
the time down to about 20 minutes.

2. Check the CIC file to make sure that all of you stocking whs, etc are
populated correctly. If they are not, the program must seach your warehouse
master file, and all of you locations for each item. Unfortunately, the way
the code was written, (Not using SQL) it reads the warehouse master, then all
of the locations and then compares that back to the item master.......

problem. We are an AS400 shop for a telecommunication manufacturer.

 Your help is greatly appreciated.
