Hi Dennis: Yeap you are right about the string but we really don't have to supply all those blanks for program to work correctly. Also since security is only validated at the display program level we are bypassing it by calling the batch program directly. Also you can assign the user id with all the schedule jobs. I have written the CL's for passing dates because I do not want to go and change my schedule jobs every week or every month. My jobs are independent of any user/operator intervention. let me know if you have any additional questions. we are using 6.04 Ashok > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-bpcs-l@midrange.com [mailto:owner-bpcs-l@midrange.com]On > Behalf Of Dennis Munro > Sent: Wednesday, April 14, 1999 2:57 PM > To: 'BPCS-L@midrange.com' > Subject: RE: Passing Parms to BPCS Programs > > > Ashok, > > I noticed in your example that the parms you are passing are > different from > what I got when I look at a job log from each of the programs I > need to run. > We are 6.0.02 PLf, full C/S. > > The actual data from our job log is as follow: > > SBMJOB CMD(CALL PGM(SYSOVRC) PARM('INV260B' X'000F ---253 hex'40' for > blanks and the 256 character is a hex'E7' which is an "X"' ' > X'24040F9F9404040404040404040404040F9F9F9F9F9F9F9F9F9F9F9F9F9F9F9F2F0F0F3 > then hex'40' through the 256th character.')) > > What you don't show is how you are getting the BPCS security to pass. > > Rather than write a CL program where dates are needed, could you not go in > and modify each "scheduled" job parms to insert the correct dates? > > Dilbert's Words Of Wisdom: > "I love deadlines.
