As others have explained, the CIC file holds facility specific cost, and the IIM file holds global cost. Global actual cost is calculated as a weighted average or last cost for all the facilities. It is updated by ACP500 (more specifically ACP504) and the CST900 job stream. Standard global cost can only be created by a global Bill-of-Materials and router while executing Load Standards from Routings (CST600) and Cost Rollup (CST500) for a blank facility. Using the facility transfer program (CST940) to populate the global cost (facility 00) may be a possible alternative to global routings and bill-of-materials, but you would have to check to see if such a transfer would update the IIM file. The CMF file is the place to obtain the most accurate cost information. There have been problems with the CIC file not being updated properly with cost information. In the past, it's been a problem that was placed on the back burner since BPCS primarily used the CMF file for costing purposes.
