Your "EDI" performance problem is certainly caused by COM itself. ECM adds very little overhead to the process. You should be running the ECM deamons in their own jobq/subsystem. This will enable you to control how the resources are used. The SSA helpline or others on this list can give you some COM performance tips. I’ve heard of 50% gains with some of these tips. Another thing to check is to make sure your are not using the SMG’s. I realize it sounds dumb, but at one time they were talking about shipping SMG’s with mixed mode. ECM has a parameter (DOCAINST) that tells it to use batch processes or SMG’s. Using the batch process will gain you an instant 20%.in GUI.
