Anthony C Kleier@ROBBINSINC 08/06/98 11:44 AM We are running full Client/Server 6.0.02 Sept cum level on AS/400. We have been live since Feb 1 and have had very little problems with BPCS stability on the 400. Our 400 did have to be replaced to get acceptable response time (model 310 up to S20 2163), and we only have 40 - 60 active concurrent users. I don't know much about SSA unix support, but the AS/400 support has been getting better over the past couple months. My understanding is that BPCS batch program objects, (ones that end in "B"), are the same between Mixed Mode and Client/Server. I have used ASSET to change programs from a Mixed Mode repository and insert them into Client/Server with little trouble. This also means that most SSA BMRs created for MM will work in C/S if they are for batch programs. I don't know if this means support is better on the AS/400 but the info might be helpful. We are also looking into a forms solution. I met with a representative from Optio yesterday and I was told that Optio DCS will be available on the AS/400 in September. Tony Kleier Robbins Inc. akleier@robbinsfloor.com If you are planning on running full Client/Server on the AS/400, we had to abandon it because of stability problems. I also don't know of any large users of full Client/Server. Generally speaking, the AS/400 platform is better supported because of the longer history of the application on that platform. However, the full Client/Server version of the software is just as new on the AS/400 as it is on the HP, so familiarity and support will be about the same. On an aside, I would like to talk to you about the Optio software, we are looking at it as a solution to pre-printed forms. +--- | This is the BPCS Users Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to BPCS-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to BPCS-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to BPCS-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner: dasmussen@aol.com +--- --part0_902431433_boundary-- +--- | This is the BPCS Users Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to BPCS-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to BPCS-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to BPCS-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner: dasmussen@aol.com +---
