Tyler,

Way back when I worked for a wholesale food distributor, with custom coded
applications, not BPCS, we found it easiest to set up such products as
separate items.  I don't recall it causing any problems to speak of.  Even
though it expands your item master, it's not the same as the huge number of
combinations you could have when assembling to order.  Is there a
compelling business reason to do it?
Otherwise, reconsider the KISS method.
