SMG's for inventory transactions -- BPCS-L

We are looking at interfacing a third party (PC based) WHM system into
BPCS 6.0.04 Mixed Mode. We feel that as SSA have indicated that CIMpath
is being phased out, that we should try and use ECM. Obviously, we can
only succeed if the relevant Adapters and Semantic messages are
available and working. Has anyone out there actually succeded in
processing inventory transactions via ECM in a mixed mode environmemt?
