I agree. That isn't a bad deal. Do they give you access to the IFS
directory where you htdocs folder exists? Do they give you access to
start/stop your Apache instance? Do they give you acces to view the
Apache instance jobs? Do they give you access to the Apache instance
spool files?

If you don't know the answers off the top of your head, don't spend
time looking - I can shoot an email off to them. At the end of the
day that is why I really like to have a dedicated partition because
there are quite a lot of confines to work around otherwise (unless
they have sufficient adopted authority workarounds). Some of my
questions stem from when I used NetShare400 back in the day.

My hope is that IBM can work with somebody like iDevCloud.com to make
it a no-brainer to start using IBMi as a web server. If I was IBM I
would even fully fund the entry level subscriptions to bolster
adoption and let Jim/Larry be the stewards of it. I know I mostly
purport RPG+Apache, but what the PHP stack became popular to run on a
virtualized IBM i instance because it was known for it's stability - I
think that would be a major win for IBM (not to mention the whole
community).
