× The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

Yeah, that's exactly the design, and it's based on what IE does today. Someone even created a command line switch, "--new", that qould be required to force this behavior. You could add it to your desktop icon.
