I think Perle is too much like the Pascal of its day. Cool and sexy to the
CompSci nerds, but for the masses it is just too ugly. At the end of the day
there will always be Perle, but PHP will be "used most" as IBM would say.

PHP is the the most used language in web development. I don't remember
where the statistics are, but I have seen them. It would make sense to
me for IBM starting to back this technology. I agree, they should add
perl to the mix as well, but I think they are taking this one slowly.
