The following might have answered the question:
SQL result set only contains 50 rows
You need to ensure your Capabilities include Data and Database Developer.
Window → Preference → General → Capabilities then check Data and Database Developer.
You need to open the Data View to enable this preference.
Window → Preference → Data → Output that lets you specify the maximum number of rows to return,
as well as maximum bytes to retrieve for large columns.
The default max number of rows is 50.
Get V7 if you can.

Does WDSC 7 Data perspective only return just 50 records when you run a
SELECT SQL statement or is it possible to return more than 50 records
and if so how do I page through the? When I do SELECT COUNT(*) I get a
count for over 3,000 records but I'm only apply to view 50 records in
the result tab table and my conditions are the same on the count and the
other statement. And the message tab says it return 50 rows.
I'm sure I'm overlooking a next page button somewhere.....
