I don't know if RSE uses NetServer to get files from the IFS - in NetServer you can specify certain extensions to be translated - so you can say *.mbr and get source files converted to ASCII automatically.

If RSE is using another method, you are getting things right - the CCSID is EBCDIC, you will see EBCDIC. But I hope there is some way to name a conversion filter when opening a file. That'd be cool.

Now I have found an app call WinHex to be great for looking at EBCDIC - might be possible to have a way to use it through RSE. It has EBCDIC to ASCII conversion in it - takes a couple mouse clicks, that's it.

I can navigate ok

Unfortunately when I try to see inside a textfile it shows up as EDBDIC
inside WSDCi, which is a bit impractical. This is both in normal text
editor and in the Remote LPEX editor.

Is there an easy setting to convert this or another suggestions?

Thanks in advance.
